About Kakkathuruthu Island

Kakkathuruthu is a tiny island in the backwaters, reached by boat, with only a few homes and no roads. It became famous worldwide after National Geographic featured it.

The island is best around sunset, when the water turns gold and the sky reflects all around it.

The most internationally recognised spot in the area — a symbol of quiet backwater life.
